Batalha

Batalha is a Portuguese village in the district of Leiria, in Beira Litoral province, Centro region (Beiras Region) and Pinhal Litoral sub-region, with less than 2 000 inhabitants. To thank the alleged divine aid granted in the victory of the battle of Aljubarrota (14 August 1385). In the 18th of March 1500 through the document (Letter of the Village) of King D. Manuel was created Vila da Batalha.
